1. It Has Multiple Powertrain Options
Ford created the Escape and gave it lots of options for drivers. Depending on what you need an SUV for, you can choose between four powertrains. The base engine is a 1.5L EcoBoost® producing 180 horsepower and 199 lb-ft of torque. The other gas option is a 2.0L EcoBoost® delivering 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
If you prefer hybrids, then you can choose between a 2.5L hybrid and a 2.5L plug-in hybrid. They both produce lots of power as well!
2. It Can Tow Well
The Escape has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped, so it’s able to handle some hauling if you need it to. To tow 3,500 pounds, you need the 2.0L gas engine and the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The 1.5L gas engine tows up to 2,000 pounds when properly equipped, while both hybrid engines when equipped properly can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
3. It’s Spacious
The amount of cargo room in the Escape varies depending on whether you have a gas or hybrid engine; the hybrids have a slightly lower maximum cargo volume than the gas models.
You’ve got 37.5 or 34.4 cubic feet of cargo room behind the second row, but you can fold down this row with ease. That gives you 65.4 or 60.8 cubic feet of cargo room to accommodate your luggage. The second row has sliding seats with a 60/40 split-fold down function, meaning you can fold down just part of the back row and travel with some rear seat passengers while also accommodating extra cargo.
4. It’s Loaded with Modern Technology
You’ll have no trouble staying connected on the road. The base model has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and standard wireless smartphone connectivity. All this connectivity lets you keep in touch with the outside world hands-free while you’re driving. You can use your voice to make calls, send texts, and access various apps while you’re on the road.
