With the Ford Promise, you can finance an eligible Ford vehicle through Ford Credit. Then, if you face financial hardship due to loss of employment, you can return it within one year of purchase. It's our way of helping you move forward.

To be eligible for a vehicle return, a consumer must:
- Have financed a used vehicle through Ford Credit at a participating Ford dealer from 10/1/2020-1/4/2021
- Have a qualifying involuntary job loss subsequent to vehicle purchase
- Apply and be approved for state unemployment benefits and notify the Claims Administrator within thirty (30) days of qualified involuntary job loss
- Minimum 30+ hours a week with single employer, minimum 12 weeks within recent 17 consecutive weeks to qualifying event (12-months for self-employed bankruptcy)
Take Your Time
Vehicle return coverage is available up to one year from date of purchase or lease.
- Maximum coverage is $15,000 per transaction
- Customer is responsible for remaining balance
- Excess mileage, wear and tear, and other restrictions and fees may apply

Frequently Asked Questions for vehicles financed between 10/1/2020-1/4/2021
The Ford Promise is available on all used and CPO vehicles. These vehicles must be purchased at a participating Ford dealer from October 1, 2020 to January 4, 2021 (the “Program Period”) and must be financed through Ford Credit. Commercial use vehicles are excluded from the Program; therefore, Ford Credit contracts marked commercial use and/or in a business name are not eligible. Seasonal Retail Payment Plans are also excluded from the program.
Customer eligibility is determined by dealership location. For dealers in all states except ME, ND, NV, NY, and UT, eligible customers will execute a Ford Promise Addendum at the time of purchase or lease. For dealers in ME, ND, NV and UT, eligible customers will receive an Insurance Certificate mailed to them by the Insurance provider. Dealers in New York are excluded from the Program.

The Ford Promise is available on 2019/2020/2021 new, demo, used, and CPO vehicles. These vehicles must be purchased or leased at a participating Ford dealer from June 26, 2020 to September 30, 2020 (the "Program Period") and must be financed through Ford Credit. Commercial use vehicles are excluded from the Program; therefore, Ford Credit contracts marked commercial use and/or in a business name are not eligible. Advanced Payment Plan Leases, Seasonal Retail Payment Plans, and the Ford Options program are also excluded from the program.
Customer eligibility is determined by dealership location. For dealers in all states except ME, ND, NV, NY, and UT, eligible customers will execute a Ford Promise Addendum at the time of purchase or lease. For dealers in ME, ND, NV and UT, eligible customers will receive an Insurance Certificate mailed to them by the Insurance provider. Dealers in New York are excluded from the Program at this time.
